How We Execute a Paving Scope
Subgrade Verification & Remediation
Before placing any base material, the subgrade is proof-rolled with a loaded dump truck or compactor. Soft spots are undercut, backfilled with suitable material, and re-compacted. Density tests confirm the subgrade is ready before base placement begins.
Limerock Base Placement & Testing
Florida limerock base is spread, shaped, and compacted in controlled lifts. Density testing by the project's materials testing lab confirms that each lift meets the LBR and compaction specification before the next lift is placed.
Concrete Curbing & Drainage Inlets
Curb and gutter is formed and poured ahead of paving. All inlet throats, valley gutter sections, and handicap ramp grade breaks are set to the design profile so paving can follow without grade adjustments.
Asphalt Paving
Type S asphalt is placed with a calibrated screed to the design thickness and cross-slope. Breakdown, intermediate, and finish rolling sequences follow the mix manufacturer's temperature guidelines. Core samples confirm thickness where required.
ADA Ramps, Markings & Fire Lanes
Curb ramps are constructed and measured for compliance. Thermoplastic or paint markings are applied after paving has cured — stall lines, ADA symbols, arrows, stop bars, and fire lane designations. Final punch-list is completed before turnover.
